Coronet Design Contest
Art Institute students!!!
The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence came into existence in 1979. Four men dressed in full traditional nuns habits went out into the San Francisco community and began what has become the Sisters' mission. The Sisters are an order of 21st Century nuns dedicated to the promulgation of omniversal joy and the expiation of stigmatic guilt. Our ministry is one of public manifestation and habitual perpetration. Since then, many have heeded the calling and there are now hundreds of Sisters in countries all around the world.
Sisters are easily identified by a few key characteristics. One is our signature white face appearance. This is a tool we use to comfort (and entertain).
Another is the coronet. It has been called by many names, depending on which Order you are working with. Almost 4 years ago the founding members of the Portland House got together and came up with what we lovingly call The Fruitbowl.
Currently there are 34 Orders of Sisters across the globe, each with their own signature coronet. The Fruitbowl has served us well but has some, lets say, drawbacks. Comfortable isn't really one of the words to describe it. It is visually fantastic and easy to reproduce but that is about the extent of the list of pros.
We would like to incite students at The Art Institute of Portland to do that amazing thing you do and create us a new coronet. One that is (in no particular order):
Visually fantastic
Easily reproducible
Comfortable
Stable
User friendly
The winner of this contest will be awarded a $500 scholarship!
